Surrey County Golf ~ Coronavirus update March 19

19th March 2020

Surrey County Golf Ltd regretfully announces that due to the escalating Covid-19 outbreak, all County activity including knockouts, County Card meetings, league matches, the Rookie Tour, County Championships and workshops/presentations will be suspended from the 18th March 2020 until the end of April.

Our priority is and will always be the health and well-being of our players, coaches, referees, volunteers, employees and staff working at golf clubs and the wider golfing community.

We will continue to monitor the situation very closely and take guidance from the Government and England Golf. It is our aim to provide updates on the impact to the season in the coming weeks as and when more information is known/released.

As we all know, Golf is a great form of exercise and providing you adhere to official guidelines, we encourage all our affiliated members to support their local Golf Clubs, and PGA Professionals as they navigate their way through this difficult and hopefully one off situation.

It is the intention, where possible to re-schedule all the above competitions but realistically this might not be possible in all cases. We emphasise that the current situation is a suspension and not cancellation and is subject to a continuous review.

There is no doubt it is going to hit the golf industry extremely hard and as a County we will do our upmost to support you where and when we can. We will of course keep you updated if anything changes, but at this time, as we are sure you can appreciate the situation is very unpredictable.

We thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter and hope that normal service resumes sooner rather than later.
