The annual friendly match between Surrey and Essex U13 players took place at Reigate Heath Golf Club on Wednesday 28th August. The weather was dry and sunny, and provided ideal golfing conditions. The match format was singles match play.
In the lead match, Jack Robinson was 2 up after 9 holes, and went on to take a 5&4 victory.
Due to a shortfall in team numbers, Matches 2 and 3 saw Yumin Do taking on two Essex players. Yumin was 3 up in both matches through 9 holes and went on to claim 5&4 wins in both.
Myles Young, in Match 4, took his match to the 18th, having been 4 down at the turn. Unfortunately despite a strong comeback he lost on the 18th.
Match 5 saw Euhwan Kim 4 up after 9 holes and sealing an emphatic 7&6 win on 12th green.
Sully Donald, playing in Match 6, was 1 down through 9 holes and the match went all the way to the 18th, with Sully taking a 1 up win.
Match 7 featured Harry Wang, who was 3 up after 9 holes and went on to take a 5&4 win on the 14th green.
Carlos Selig, playing in Match 8, was 2 down through 9 holes and was another to take his match all the way to the 18th, though unfortunately losing 1 down.
In Matches 9 and 10, Leonidas Joseph and Byron Morris both fought hard but suffered 3&2 and 4&3 defeats respectively.
Having been all square through 9 holes, Match 11 was another that went all the way to the 18th green and delivered a 1 up win for Joshua Loganathan.
Matches 12 saw another Surrey win, with Max Carroll 3 up at the turn and going on to beat his opponent 2&1.
Joey Beale, playing in Match 13, was 3 down after 9 holes, but fought back to take a 3&2 victory on the 16th hole.
Match 14 saw Essex take a 3&2 win over Luke Stachel who, despite battling hard, could not overcome a 3 down deficit after 9 holes.
In the final match Ben Hargrave was 3 up after 9 holes and went on to take a 4&3 victory on the 15th hole.
