Kris Kim & Aaron Moody Secure U13/14 Championships

With a field of 42 players making their way from various parts of the County, the U13 (Usmar Salver) & U14 (Olga Mills Cup) County Championships took place at Surbiton Golf Club on Sunday 4th July.

Poor weather was forecasted, however the players and officials felt extremely lucky as the worst of the showers lasted merely a few minutes.

The blustery winds, tight fairways and quick greens ensured some tough course conditions making for an exciting event, with no player guaranteed to shoot a low score.

Players went out in reverse handicap order, with the first group teeing off at 1pm. Once they were off, they never looked back, and it was not long before they were in the clubhouse signing their cards. This was very much the same throughout the field and all County Officials would like to applaud the speed of play shown by the players.

Of-course, these competitions would not be possible without the help of our Volunteers who were out on the course ball spotting and in the Club House checking players in. A big virtual round of applause to the volunteers.

Another massive virtual round of applause goes to the parents/guardians. Without you, the players cannot attend these events and the level of professionalism shown yesterday by parents was commendable.

Anyway, enough rambling from me! Time for the Prizes! (Players who win scratch prizes, will be unable to win a handicap prize) All Vouchers will be sent out in the post.

In 2nd place with a Nett 70 – Joshua Thompson.
