7. Mixed Foursomes Knockout (The Thornhill Trophy)

Players must be aged 18 or over, and be a member of Clubs affiliated to Surrey Ladies County Golf Association and Surrey County Golf. (N.B. Players do not need to belong to the same Club) The maximum combined handicap index is 44. Teams may exceed this limit but must play off 44. The competition will be a knockout over 18 holes matchplay foursomes.

All players must have WHS approved handicap on the day of the event.

Home Clubs are reminded that it is normal etiquette to allow the members of the Away Team to play a practice round at a rate equal to or less than the members’ introduced guest rate. The Home Team must offer the visitors 3 dates (2 different weekends and one mid-week). If you do not hear from your opponent within 3 days after the previous Play By date, (whether you are the Home or the Away Team) please telephone the Club involved and ask the Secretary to check the contact's details and that the Liaison Player is not on holiday!!

No substitutions will be allowed once the first round has been played. Men play off the Competition Tees of the day, and the Ladies play off Red Tees. The Stroke Indices to be taken off the Ladies Card. All matches to be played to a finish.

The Away pair will receive an additional one extra shot AFTER calculation of stroke allowance. Where the Home Team comes from 2 different Clubs as ‘Home Team’, they may decide which course to play on, but the ‘Home Team’ still give the courtesy shot to the ‘Away Team’, even if they have received a reduced rate practice round. Also see Rules 18 & 19.

Round 3 Top Team is Home - To be played by 13th June
Quarter Final Bottom Team is Home - To be played by 25th July
Semi Final Top Team is Home (please note: the semi finals are to be played at a neutral venue so semi finalists are requested to swap venues i.e. top semi finalists to swap venue with bottom semi finalists) - To be played by 5th September

The Thornhill Mixed KO final is arranged by the Surrey Ladies venue and date to be advised
