To be eligible to compete in any Surrey County Championship a player must:
a. be of Amateur Status as defined by the R & A.
b. be a member of a Golf Club which is affiliated to Surrey County Golf Ltd.
c. not have taken part in a golf championship of another County affiliated to England Golf, have been coached by or represented another County affiliated to England Golf during the same calendar year.
All players must have a WHS Handicap Index on the day of the event.
The Knockout shall be open to any mixed pair of individual Members of a club affiliated to Surrey Ladies County Golf Association and/or Surrey County Golf Ltd. (Players do not need to be from the same club).
The knockout will be played over 18 holes in a foursomes match play format.
Men play off the competition tees of the day and ladies off the red tees.
Players must be aged 18 or over on the closing date of entry.
Maximum combined Handicap Index limit is 44.0, players may be higher than this but they have to play off the maximum combined handicap index of 44.0.
Handicap allowance = 50% of combined team handicap.
The SI and pars are taken from the ladies’ tee as it is the shorter course.
It is the combined Course Handicaps of the two players, using the charts from the tees you are playing from (men – white, ladies – red) and then the 50% is applied and the away players then have the additional shot applied.
Home teams are reminded that it is the rules of the competition to allow the away team to play a practice round at a rate equal to or less than the members' introduced guest rate prior to the match. If this is not possible that the green fee must be split by the teams.
No substitutions will be allowed once the first round has been played.
Whilst it is the responsibility of the home team to provide three dates (two weekends and one mid-week) it is the responsibility of both teams to ensure the match is played. Failure to play the match before the completion round will result in the disqualification of both teams. No extensions will be granted.
See the Rules and Regulations, under the 'Competitions' tab on the website for full details of all rules.
