The Christies Cup KO Rules

The Competition shall be open to all players under the age of 18 on the 31st December of the previous year, who are affiliated to Surrey Golf. Each team will consist of 3 players (boys or girls). Teams may change in each round.

All Players must have a WHS handicap index. Handicap index limits are, boys 28.0, girls 36.0. Any player with a handicap index over the limits may play but must play off the appropriate limit.

The knockout will be played over 18 holes as a Stableford, played in 2 balls. The WHS Playing Handicap mandatory allowance is 95%. The away player in each game will be allowed one extra shot, to be taken after all handicap adjustments have been calculated. If the away player is also a playing member of the home club, this does not apply. Play will be of the competitions tees of the day, generally white tees for the boys and red for the girls (or the clubs equivalent).

The total of the best 2 cards of each team will count. If there is a tie the 3rd score will then count. If there is still a tie after the 3rd score, then a sudden death Stableford score playoff between the first named player in each team will decide the winning team.

The winning Club will be invited to go forward to represent the County in the England Golf Club Junior Team Tournament.

Caddies are not allowed in this event.

Final to be played at Clandon Regis Golf Club on Sunday 15th October

Results must be notified by the winning team immediately after the match has been played via email to, office@surreygolf.org.

Home clubs are reminded that the rules of this competition state that the Away Teams are to be offered a practice round at a rate equal to or less than the members’ introduced guest rate prior to matches being played.

The home team/player is expected to offer at least three dates to their opponents to play the match, two at weekends and one mid-week with exception of the Seniors. These dates must be offered in a timely manner, if none of these dates are acceptable to the visitors and no other mutually acceptable date is agreed, then both teams will be disqualified. The Competition Committees decision is final.

WHILST IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOME TEAM TO OFFER DATES IT IS EXPECTED THAT ALL TEAMS/PLAYERS WILL MUTUALLY AGREE TO PLAY THEIR MATCHES BEFORE THE COMPLETION DATE OF EACH ROUND.

No extensions will be given.

All spectators must remain at least twenty-five metres from the players during the round.

All matches must be played to a conclusion until the overall competition result is decided.
