Boys Scratch Knockout 2024 Rules

To be eligible to compete in any Surrey County Championship or to represent the County in a match, a player must:

i) Be of Amateur Status as defined by the R&A.
ii) Be an affiliated member of a Surrey Golf Club
iii) Have a valid handicap index in the Worldwide Handicap System
iv) Not have taken part in a Championship of another County affiliated to England Golf and not have been coached by or represented another County affiliated to England Golf during the same calendar year.

Players agree to abide by the rules and regulations of Surrey Golf, which are available to download from the Surrey Golf website.

To be eligible for our knockouts, a player must meet the age and handicap index requirements as detailed in Appendix A of our Rules and Regulations.

All Surrey Knockouts shall be played under the rules of the R&A and local rules as per the hosting clubs, unless otherwise advised.

All entries shall be subject to approval by the Championship Committee who reserve the right to accept or refuse any entry. The Committee’s decision shall be final and the reason for the decision may be withheld.

Please note that caddies are not permitted in any Junior Event.

The format of the competition is singles match play over 18 holes, played off scratch. The match must be played to a conclusion, and in the event of a halved match after eighteen holes, play must continue until one player wins a hole.

Any spectators MUST remain at least 25 metres from the players throughout the round. Spectators may assist with ball searching, but if they are witnessed interfering with play in any way or providing guidance to players, then they will be asked to leave the course.
