Puttenham Rookie Tour Boys (12.1-28) 2026

For the first ROOKIE OPEN of 2026, part of the SURREY ROOKIETOUR, we make a return visit to the challenging and very picturesque Puttenham Golf Club.

PRACTICE ROUND

Any time weekdays, or after 1pm at weekends or Bank Holidays.

Junior £19.00, Adult £45.50

You must call the Puttenham Professional shop on 01483 810498 to book a tee time and say you are playing the RookieTour event. 

CATERING

Food will be available in the Clubhouse until 4pm. Our understanding is that no food will be available after 4pm.

The Halfway Hut will also be open.

REGISTRATION

The RookieTour reception desk will be in the Bar for you to register and collect your scorecard

HANDICAPS

The maximum handicap is 36.

Remember it is the responsibility of the player to ensure any handicap changes are completed by their Club. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. If in any doubt ask for advice at your Club, or at the Rookie reception desk.  

START SHEET

Start times are emailed to players in advance and are also visible on http://surrey.intelligentgolf.co.uk

ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE TIMES

Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your start time to allow you to register, warm-up and get to the 1st tee on schedule.

Please ensure that your Player is collected after completion of the golf. This is approximately four hours after the Player’s start time.

CANCELLATION / NO SHOW

If you need to cancel please email rookietour@gmail.com and include Event, players name and tee time.

The RookieTour has strict rule regards players cancelling at the last minute or simply not turning up for their Tee time. A copy of these rules can be found on the RookieTour Brochure, or on the Surrey Golf Union web site

CADDIES

Caddies are not permitted.

SPECTATORS

All spectators MUST remain at least 25 metres from all players at all times. No advice may be given. Spectators MUST NOT interfere with play. Ballspotting is acceptable and is encouraged.

Players aged U10 MUST have an adult present for child protection purposes.

Failure to comply with these Rules will result in a warning, with a further breach resulting in disqualification.

FORMAT OF PLAY

The competition will be as follows.

U14 Boys with a Handicap Index of 12.0 or less shall play an 18-hole Medal.

U14 Boys with a Handicap Index of 12.1 to 36.0 shall play an 18-hole Stableford.

U14 Girls with a Handicap Index of 36.0 or less shall play an18-hole Stableford.

Prizes shall be awarded at the end of season Presentation event at Pine Ridge GC.

TEES

Tees will be confirmed on the day.

DRESS CODE

No denim, T-shirts or trainers. Traditional golf clothing is required at all times for both players and spectators.

 

There will be Surrey Rookie Tour Officials on the course for safety and advice on any rulings.

 

Please keep up with the match in front and avoid slow play.

 

If you are playing in a Stableford competition and cannot score on a hole please pick up your ball to keep play moving.
