Back to back wins for Harry Wang!

A red hot Chobham Golf Club once again hosted The Surrey County U12 Championship on Tuesday 12th August.

With temperatures reaching 32 degrees the players were really tested both physically and mentally. Despite the searing heat and bouncy conditions the scoring was fantastic.

In the handicap category there was an astonishing tie on a nett score of 59! This saw Leo Ellis of Burhill narrowly edge it ahead of Ian Byun from Coombe Wood thanks to a slightly better back 6. What a round by both young men. A big handicap reduction to follow!

In the Scratch section it was equally as tight with 3 players on the same score of 73 (+4) and fighting for 2nd place.

4th Gary Maio (Cuddington) - 73

3rd Myles Young (Banstead Downs) - 73

2nd Carlos Selig (Sunningdale) 73

Our defending champion, Harry Wang (Burhill) managed to battle through some sickness halfway round to produce a very solid round of 71 (+2) to retain the title of Surrey County U12 Champion and take home The Paul Casey Trophy.

Each year we are blown away by the talent playing within the county and we are thrilled to see so many young golfers enjoying the game and competing at a really high level. We look forward to watching their development throughout their junior career.

Thank you to all the parents and taxi drivers for driving the players here there and everywhere. Without you, the events simply wouldn't take place.

Equally, thank you to Chobham for hosting a wonderful event. We really enjoy and appreciate your hospitality.
