Surrey Seniors through to the SEG League Final

Having won both there two previous League Matches against Kent in a match too close to call at one point and Hampshire which proved another tough challenge, Surrey prevailed and travelled to Crowborough Beacon Golf Club on the 20th August.

Fred and Simon secured the first two points in closely contested matches, followed by Tord who tied his match. Nigel, took a two hole win with the next two matches going the way of Sussex, the overall score now standing at 3.5 to 2.5. With four matches still to come in, Surrey needed another 2 points to secure the win and they did just that with Andy Inglis winning 4/3 and Ian Barker hot on his heals with a 2/1 win. The last two matches saw one go to Sussex and one to Surrey leaving the overall results 6.5 to 3.5.

Surrey will meet BB&O in the final at Royal Black Heath Golf Club on the 15th October. We wish the team the very best of luck.
