Knockout Finals Day 2025
Woodcote Park hosted this years Knockout Finals Day on Sunday 5th October.
Three separate finals took place over the challenging set up made even tougher by the tail end of Storm Amy. Unphased by this, our finalists took to the course and stated their bid to lift their respective trophy.
First up was the County Card Foursomes Final played by Vic Tokarski and Alex Beal of Purley Downs against Greg van Heerden and Alan Samuel of The Drift. In what was a really well natured match it was the men from Purley Downs who prevailed as winners by a margin of 4&3.
In the Thornhill Mixed Foursomes Final Ian Smailes and Linda Sulman of Pyrford took on Johnnie and Sarah Edwards of Mitcham. Again, the match was played in a great spirit with plenty of laughter on the way round. The winners were The Edwards 3&2.
The Surrey Fives Final was contested by Roehampton and Foxhills with 5 players a side with handicaps ranging from 5 to 18. On paper the teams were very evenly matched and every match was closely fought but Foxhills emerged as winners by 4 games to 1.
