On a notably blustery Sunday, 5th October, Addington Palace Golf Club hosted the finals of the Scratch League between Roehampton and Banstead and the Surrey Scratch Plate between Surbiton and Hankley Common.
The day began with the Scratch League Final, featuring the teams from Roehampton and Banstead Downs:
Roehampton
Banstead Downs
In what proved to be a tightly contested match, the result came down to the fourth game between Scott Stanley and James Weigall. With everything on the line, they headed to a sudden-death playoff hole. Scott held his nerve to secure the hole and the championship for Roehampton.
Following the league final, the Surrey Scratch Plate Final teed off, with Surbiton and Hankley Common competing for the title, representing their clubs were:
Surbiton
Hankley Common
Once again, the match was closely fought, with both teams showcasing high-quality golf with Surbiton emerging victorious.
Both finals were played in an excellent spirit of sportsmanship, with outstanding golf on display throughout the day.
Congratulations to all four teams, and a special thank you to Addington Palace Golf Club for their warm hospitality and for providing a superb venue for the finals.
